There are always and always will be people in our lives who get satisfaction from making us angry. Sometimes they are not even conscious they are doing this. It comes quite naturally to them.

Life does have a way of dishing out these kind of people. It can be through work, friendships or social events. In our personal lives we do have a bit of control over with whom we interact. In work settings, this is not always possible.

There are several types of people who tend to get under our skin. Do you recognize any of these types?

Competitors: These people always keep track of our successes and failures.

Control Freaks: These people are unable to just let things be. They have to control everything.

Gossips: These people betray secrets and spread rumors.

Steamrollers: The people are completely insensitive to others.

Martyrs: These people are always the victim and consumed with self pity.

Back-stabbers: These people are two faced. They say one thing to one person and another thing to another person.

Volcanoes: These people spend days building up anger and are always ready to erupt.

Green-eyed monsters: These people are filled with jealousy and envy.

Wet Blankets: These people are perpetually negative and downers.

Critics: These people are always giving unwanted advice and complaining about some issue.

The best advice to people regarding these personality types is “don’t be that kind of person.”

We can all see a bit of ourselves in these personalities. If we recognize certain tendencies we can take care and try and curb some of the negativity. Being aware of ourselves is half of the battle. It takes deliberate care to act the opposite of some of our negative tendencies.

You will have more success in relationships and professional life when you learn to temper your personality. You will be the type of person other people want to be around. You will have better success in all areas of your life.
