Hello, and thank you for coming to my blog.

You are here for a reason. You think you might be an Empath? Or better yet, you already know that you are! Welcome, welcome, welcome. Where to start. Where to start.

Let me begin by saying you are a very unique and special human being. According to a 2007 study on Empathy, published in Nature Neuroscience only one to two percent of the population consists of true Empaths. True Empaths make up only a fraction of the population. Empaths are a rare breed.

So congratulations on having this unique gift.

You may wonder, why do some people become Empaths. Have you perhaps bounced around the following ideas in that wonderful, creative, sensitive brain of yours:

Let’s talk temperament. Some humans are born with more sensitivity than others. It is as simple as that. Let’s call it an inborn temperament. Infants that come out of the womb who are innately more responsive to light, touch, smells, temperature, sound and movement seem to be Empaths from the start. Bless their wee hearts.

It has been shown that children who are highly sensitive can be born from parents who are endowed with the same traits, that Empathic abilities can genetically transmitted.

It has also been well documented that childhood trauma can effect your personality as an adult. Physical or emotional abuse taking the form of neglectful, alcoholic or depressed parents can eventually erode a child`s healthy defenses.

But the opposite can also be true; a nurturing parent can help a child honor their gifts of sensitivity.

Whatever brought you to this wonderful place; the life of an amazing Empath; stay tuned to learn more about the truly incredible person you are!
