Artificial Intelligence
A dangerous kind of smart
If we are not careful, we will end up with only the brave few, secretly scribbling truths with crayons on cave walls. JBB
When we think of AI, images of pristine algorithms, scientific objectivity, and decisions decided by data execute an intricate dance. It’s a crisp clear world where numbers rule, and calculations weave complex patterns.
The truth is that intelligence in is purest sense is so much more than crunching numbers. And this is the twist, oxymoron, juxtaposition, contradiction, or whatever we choose to call it.
Intelligence, in fact, is about adapting to the here and now, navigating through darkness, growing, and changing, embracing the organic, and ever evolving.
Like our bodies and minds, AI is only as good as the fuel. Garbage in, garbage out. We are feeding a veracious machine with stats, facts, trends, and profiles. But stats, facts, trends, and profiles change from minute to minute. There is always the unknown, the unforeseen, and the unexpected. How can AI ever be expected to weave this silken cloth into its synthetic numbers game.
Whose facts, trends and profiles are being gobbled up and spit out by the algorithm’s appetite for power, greed, and profit.
