Taoists believe that people are born with the virtues of kindness, justice, respect, honesty and love. As we go through life the negative emotions of stress, anger, worry, fear, sadness and grief can begin to dominate and deplete our healthy energy.

Taoists believe that all of our organs carry emotional energy. Simply put, it follows that negative energies can damage our organs causing ill health, anxiety and depression. It is no one’s fault, life happens.

I would like to share with you a very simple tool, easily implemented, to recharge and increase positive energy and health. Let’s all practice turning these negative emotional feelings back into the positive virtues we possessed at birth.

That routine of cultivating the inner smile is one such activity freely available to everyone. And it doesn’t take much time.

Here is what you do:

  1. Position yourself on a chair with your two feet flat on the floor. As you close your eyes try to feel your connection through your feet to the earth below.
  2. Imagine yourself or someone you love smiling in front of you.
  3. Imagine that your are drawing this smiling energy into your forehead and surrounding yourself with it. Relax and try to visualize and feel the energy like…
