Follow, read their work if you have time and clap. Read other stories of interest and clap. I found that the most important thing was interacting with the Medium community. Get your name out there. Post a favorite poem or quote, a favorite recipe or vacation spot, talk about a favorite author or musician. Your writing does not have to be perfect. Just write.
