EVEN houseplants that require little care can struggle with keeping healthy during the cold winter months. But, there are some simple things you can do to help.

Inconsistent temperatures, root rot, lack of sunlight, overwatering, and dry heat can wreak havoc on our dear little green family members. The dry air from heating can leave our plants feeling vulnerable and stressed.

Houseplants bring joy, beauty and warmth to our homes during the winter, and we want to do all we can to ensure they remain healthy and vibrant.

Here are some tips to help you keep your houseplants healthy and happy during the winter:

  • Place your plants a safe distance from the cool chill of a window while reducing direct exposure to heat sources.
  • Have your plants join you in the bathroom while you shower or use a humidifier to help to increase the moisture in your home.
  • Like you, your plants like to be snuggly and warm. Place your plants close to each other to help to create a microenvironment of warmth and humidity. You may also gently mist your plants but be cautious of over misting.
